Society and Inequality in Eurasia/North Africa








  • In the recent 250 years historians of world history have returned to the question of how the social rythme and for a long time have been wondering it to be something natural and permanent.

  • People such as the French.Russian,Chinese had revolutionary obstacles and have created damaged old monarchies and class hierarchies. Organizations such as the Abolitionist who would pretty much attack slavery in the 19th century, and the women's movement had fought long and hard to gain their rightful place in society and not just them but also the abolitionist most people in that time was fight for their rightful place in society.
  • Famous people in history like Mahatma Gandhi fought for India while it was going through its struggle for its independence in the 20th century as an attempt to raise the status of "untouchables" which means in Indian terms "Harridan" or in English it means "Nevertheless,caste,class,patriarchy, and also the most important thing that has not disappeared from human society which is slavery, which is known till today's present.
  •    This system that we are learning about these types of societies are pretty much close to the ones that we are use to in our own society such as the US. We are also divided automatically because the rich people mainly influence the poor since they have been educated which is something that they tend to use as a weapon or protection. In the chapter when it talked about The Han Dynasty they gave an example about the landlords were the bosses of the peasants because whatever the peasants would produce they would have to give out half of it the landlord.
  • I think that the way that this type of structural system pretty much humiliating to the peasants and how they have to live their life with these rules and adjustments that was to go against population. The way that this was stated has made the peasants so gloomy and in which they created the Yellow Turban movement or rebellion.
    • People such as the Daoists think that the lower class would actually accomplish this so called  "Great Peace" which pretty much means that they are able to have a place for equality within society.With this type good equality it finally means that a majority of people were able to be treated fairly in a physical and spiritual type of way. However the bad news is that the people were not able to achieve their goal of peace even if it was for  worthy objective and the peasants were later on respected for their thrive in createing peace.

Chapter 6

While reading this chapter I found some pretty fascinating information in this chapter and it was the type that of information that one can understand in an easy pace and also because all of this  is something that has a similarity between several societies. I did find that the Nubian civilization,almost as old as Egypt itself.Throughout several the Nubian's civilization both traded and fought with Egypt and on one occasion the Nubian Kingdom of Kush took over Egypt and was able to maintain it throughout a century. Later on it crumbled down and Nubian Civilization was the one with the most populated people and that is when the civilization of Meroe came in because the Nubian's have settled in the southern part of that city.  It also a strong government and it would to be making a lot of accomplishments and what I mean by that is the technology advancements and money wise it would look like they would be keeping a steady pace and that would also go for the business...
