I found some pretty interesting things in this chapter mainly because of the topic that was based off religion and how it was viewed from both cultural sides of China and India.
What I found interesting about this was when in the text it would demonstrate about how the women were treated differently in society and what their roles were. From the Chinese side I did not think it was going to be that intense on their cultural side because they are mainly about discipline and they also made the Chinese religion a routine, but the thing that would split the difference from the both cultures is the the ladies are actually able to go to school, be able to perform in rituals. If a woman was almost at the top of her social class she would be able to choose the type of husband that she wants. In India it was somewhat understandable that they would want to keep to the cultural routines and traditions such as having the women as caretakers or housewives, and besides that women of that country were treated in a bad way and their services would be taken for granted but some tend to look ahead and know what they are signing up for. Some would talk about how the women there tend to be viewed or observed as "unclean". Now that is something that is pretty humiliating to be told and if it were out in public it would be embarrassing to be seen out in public after that type of situation. Ladies in India were to be attentive to the men as if they had the position of a god. In India the tradition is that if the husband of a woman were to die, then that would mean that the women will be forced to be married or passed down to somebody else, if it does not workout with that person then they will be passed down to next man on the list. Being single can never be an option, that goes for one is young. It sounds crazy because the kids/adolescents don't benefit anything from this at all and the parents do because they expect to have grand kids and all that main stuff, so pretty much to end this topic the women in India have a somewhat hard lifestyle compared to the way that the Chinese ladies.
