Chapter 6

While reading this chapter I found some pretty fascinating information in this chapter and it was the type that of information that one can understand in an easy pace and also because all of this  is something that has a similarity between several societies.

I did find that the Nubian civilization, almost as old as Egypt itself.Throughout several the Nubian's civilization both traded and fought with Egypt and on one occasion the Nubian Kingdom of Kush took over Egypt and was able to maintain it throughout a century. Later on it crumbled down and Nubian Civilization was the one with the most populated people and that is when the civilization of Meroe came in because the Nubian's have settled in the southern part of that city.
It also a strong government and it would to be making a lot of accomplishments and what I mean by that is the technology advancements and money wise it would look like they would be keeping a steady pace and that would also go for the business economic wise and trying to keep it everything leveled up for the industry the examples that were shown in the chapter were people like (Merchants, Weavers, Potters, Masons, Servants, Laborers/Slaves) these types of businesses are what keep everything moving. Especially a bushiness such as agriculture is something that is really popular all because people did not rely on irrigation since they tend to get a lot of rainfall.

After reading and taking in some of this information I felt that this type of society had several positive stuff and some negative stuff . The positive side is that for Oceanic people they would be having a unlimited supply of seafood, so I doubt they would be running out they'd be out of food. The negative part would be that they are isolated. Why does Strayer say that women are dangerous during menstruation and childbirth?

Chapter 8

I thought that this was an interesting chapter the way that things and tradition would function in China in a variety of ways How the Women played their roles in society and that goes for the way that women were seen as a distraction in society from a mans point of view because of the way that they tend to check the ladies out. The women would also be running restaurant. Women led less restricted lives, elite Chinese women of the Tang dynasty era at least in the north and had participated in social life with greater freedom than in earlier times. Social Hierarchy(prioritizing the social the order) It was something that was also good for landowner examination system which is something that gives one the opportunity to gain a career and put his talent to use. Educational/Training The examination system was restored and modified to be a bit more complex and was fowrdly advanced on the ability to make or print books to be the first one to be known throughout world history, an...

Chapter 4 Cultural traditions and Different religions

I found some pretty interesting things in this chapter mainly because of the topic that was based off religion and how it was viewed from both cultural sides of China and India.             What I found interesting about this was when in the text it would demonstrate about how the women were treated differently in society and what their roles were. From the Chinese side I did not think it was going to be that intense on their cultural side because they are mainly about discipline and they also made the Chinese religion a routine, but the thing that would split the difference from the both cultures is the the ladies are actually able to go to school, be able to perform in rituals. If a woman was almost at the top of her social class she would be able to choose the type of husband that she wants. In India it was somewhat understandable that they would want to keep to the cultural routines and traditions such as having the women as caretakers or ho...
